Some Guitar Videos to Inspire You:

Please note, I am now posting a new video each month on my blog. (This page will no longer be updated.)

Don Ross and Peter Kroll-Ploeger playing David Essig's "Berkely Springs". You can read more about this video on my blog.

Pete Huttlinger playing "The View". You can read more about Pete Huttlinger and "The View" on my blog.
Tuning: DADGBD (Double dropped D tuning)
Sheet Music: www.PeteHuttlinger.com

Bob Evans, another Canadian, wrote "On the Tip of the Tongue" as a tribute to his mother as she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The sheet music is available for free on his website.
Tuning: DGDGBD (Open G tuning)
Sheet Music: www.BobEvansGuitar.com (Note: There are errors in the tablature: In bars 28 and 29 of the transcription, it indicates that you play the fourth fret on the fourth string on beat 3 - it should read as the third fret; and in bar 31, the sixth string should be fretted at the first fret throughout.)

This is a fun one: Gareth Pearson playing Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean"

Antoine Dufour is another brilliant Canadian guitarist/composer. Notice that his guitar is actually on a stand - and the bandana isn't just for show, it cuts down on resonance in the strings between the nut and tuners.
Tuning: DAC#EBE
Sheet Music: www.AntoineDufourMusic.com

Update: I now have a short blog post about Antoine.

Lucas Michailidis is an excellent player and composer from Australia. Also be sure to watch versions by Macyn Taylor, Jas McHugh, and Kelsey Roe - all students in the University of Wisconsin - Milwaulkee guitar program.
Tuning: CGDGCD
Sheet Music: www.LucasMichailidis.com

I'm not sure who they are, but they've put in some rehearsal time! Note the sections where they switch hands - unbelievable!.

As we approach Easter, here is a very nice arrangement of "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" - Dale has an excellent YouTube channel that has many excellent performances and video lessons covering many songs in many styles including a lesson on how to play this tune.

Benjamin Kammin playing an excerpt from Alex deGrassi's "Sleepytime" - a beautiful (and playable) tune in DADGAD tuning. Also check out this version by Macyn Taylor, an up-and-coming young guitarist (I think she was about 12 years old when this video was made).
Tuning: DADGAD
Sheet Music: www.deGrassi.com

Don Ross playing "Klimbim". I was pleased when Don announced on his website that he was offering guitar lessons again for the first time in a long time (I would love to take lessons from him) but then I noticed that he has moved from (nearby) Cannington to (far away) Halifax. Oh well...

Harry Manx playing "Only Then Will Your House be Blessed" - the first song I ever heard him play and still my favourite. (Sorry, I don't teach slide guitar.) Its worth noting that he is also playing percussion with his feet.

Vintage footage of Pete Seeger showing off his "chops" playing "Living in the Country". Also check out Leo Kottke's version with a very entertaining introduction here.
Tuning: Dropped D (DADGBE)
Sheet Music: Fingerpicking Styles for Guitar, by Happy Traum (ISBN# 0.8256.0343.9)

Tommy Emmanuel plays his version of the classic "Classical Gas" by Mason Williams and throws in a bit of "Walk, Don't Run".

Jacob Moon played a Christmas concert at Uxbridge Baptist Church on Friday, December 4, 2009. It was a great show! Update: Jacob was invited by Rush to play this song for Rush's induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Sunday, March 29th, 2010.

Andy McKee. Brilliant!
Tuning: DADGAD
Sheet Music: www.AndyMcKee.com
